I am a blessed woman. I was given an adoring husband who laughingly refers to our 22 year marriage as "the long haul." He and I were given two daughters, now 14 and 5, with an impressive list of medical issues, true pioneer spirits, and a self confident zest for life. We even have enough money left each month to pay something on our scroll of medical, medicine, and specialized school bills. We fearlessly "run a tab" on all those things and will never move out of our daily communting range to UNCH and CASTLE. The magic happens at CASTLE, that audiological, auditory verbal sanctuary where all the staff is heaven sent to teach and nurture our HI kids and to instruct the parents for home teaching. It is a bond, a partnership with both professionals and parents vested in the success of our children.
From prayer comes comfort which is followed with laughter and confidence. Everyday my family has accomplishments. We all work hard, we all go to bed exhausted, but we wake up the next morning knowing that today's accomplishments are just waiting to be obtained. Yes, this is the blessed "long haul."
