Survey Results

The results are in! Thank you to those of you who participated in our member poll. We've been able to take a look at the results and present to you what we've learned. Among the members that completed the poll, 16.7% were parents of children with hearing loss, 83.3% were professionals who work with children who have hearing loss, and 4.2% were individuals with hearing loss.

Most people, almost 80%, are primarily involved wtih elementary school children, closely followed by 63% working with the birth-5 population. 29% work with teens and adolescents and 4% work with young adults.

75% of you would be willing to volunteer with NC AG Bell. That's exciting news! But the vast majority, 83%, is not interested in heading up a committee or coordinating volunteer efforts.

You would like to see NC AG Bell reach out to lower socioeconomic groups and those in rural areas, be involved in regional activities, advocate for better school and early intervention services, increase membership, educate physicians and the general pubilic about hearing loss options, help with legislation, and help with newborn hearing screening follow-up. These are just some examples of the major themes we ran across.

We are so lucky to have such a dedicated group of individuals in our membership. There are so many wonderful ideas, but without volunteer efforts, we won't be able to see them through to fruition. Please consider coordinating a team to address an issue that's near to your heart. You can contact the board by emailing web@ncagbell.org
