  • 1/29/10 Coalition of Organizations for Accessible Technology  (www.coataccess.org):  This organization “...advocates for legislative and regulatory safeguards that will ensure full access by people with disabilities to evolving high speed broadband, wireless and other Internet Protocol (IP) technologies.”  AG Bell is encouraging anyone and everyone to get involved at the state or local level to advocate by writing letters to their senators and representatives.  To become a member, there is no charge and there are no dues.  Interested parties can sign up for action alerts on their website.  For more information, email : bmurphy@agbell.org

  • 1/29/10 Convention Family Scholarships:  The National organization is beginning to receive donations that will be used to provide 7-10 scholarships (depending on how much money they receive) to send families to the convention in June.  Eligible families have not attended convention before and must demonstrate financial need.  Award will include 2 full convention registrations and 2 registrations for the kids/teens programs, as well as 4 nights of lodging within the dates of the the convention.  Applications are available on the national website and will be reviewed by a committee of volunteers and ranked based on the criteria listed above.  Recipients will be announced on 4/15.  

  • 1/29/10 Board Service Nominations:  There are two openings for elected members of the National Board of Directors.  If you or someone you know might be interested, please apply.  The deadline for applications is 2/1, but they would like for people to go ahead and contact Robin Bailey beyond the deadline if interested.  There are also two appointed positions open.
